The Route
The Occasion
On Sunday 5th September the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club held a Major National Celebration of 75 years of the Jaguar Marque. The celebration took the form of a Drive-It-Day, where each JEC Region organised a drive to a place of interest. It was planned to have the largest number of Jaguars ever out on one day to mark this historic anniversary!
Each local event should have been recorded with pictures of all the cars. These will be collated at JEC HQ to see if we've got the biggest number of Jaguars & Daimlers out on the same day.
Our Local Drive
Oxford Region met at the Travelodge at Wheatley, and then had a leisurely drive to Stonor Park,
(between Watlington and Henley) where we met up with our colleagues from Thames Valley Region. The Historic House
The house includes an early 17th century library, an 18th century gothic revival hall, and the remains of the 13th century aisled hall.
There are family portraits & papers, old master drawings & paintings, renaissance bronzes & tapestries, fine stained glass and contemporary ceramics.
There is a hillside walled garden with commanding views of the deer park.
The Gardens and Chapel open at 1.00pm and the House, Tea Room and Gift Shop open at 2.00pm. Last entry to the house is 4.30pm. The House, Gardens and Park close at 5.30pm.
