If there are those of you who would like something quieter than the Abingdon Air & Country Show on
May 6th, then take your car to the Brightwalton Fete which is in the Berkshire downs, South of
Wantage. This is a traditional village fete with a good collection of classic cars of all types.

The easiest way from Oxford is via Wantage:
Leave the A34 at Botley and follow the A420 West for 4.5 miles. At the roundabout turn Left onto the A338 for Wantage. After 8.3 miles go through Wantage and take the B4494 (Chainhill Road) towards Newbury. After 4.4 miles turn Right into Common Lane for Brightwalton. (Don't take the earlier turning for Woolley, Great Shefford.) If you miss the Brightwalton turning there is another one after a further 1.6 miles.
After 1.3 miles you will enter the village. Pass Long Lane on the Left and Butts Furlong on the Right. The Village Hall is then on the Right hand side.
(Alternatively, if you like navigating you can steam down the A34, and then cut across through West Ilsley, Catmore and Lilley!)
